Abstract :
Reports on the development of a mode-locked AlGaAs diode laser pumped Nd:YAG laser operating at 1.3 mu m. The laser produces pulses of 47 ps duration with a time-bandwidth product of 0.42, which is close to the limit for Gaussian pulses.
