Abstract :
The authors review the telecommunications service-provisioning process. They describe a view of future service provisioning and discuss the issues and technical problems involved in online service provisioning. They explore how intelligent network elements in conjunction with distributed algorithms and distributed databases can be used to achieve this objective. The authors also present and describe a system architecture for the implementation of online service provisioning
