Abstract :
Phase accumulating direct digital frequency synthesis (DDFS) uses table took-up with truncated phase addressing to map from the phase to amplitude domain. A phase mapping technique is presented, precisely equivalent to table lookup without phase truncation, but requiring significantly reduced lookup table memory. Error performance is determined entirely by sample quantisation.
