Abstract :
The statistical analysis of a class of continuous automatic repeat request (ARQ) strategies is performed. In the considered class, an optimal (throughput-maximising) number of copies of each data block is sent contiguously instead of one single copy. Explicit formulas for the probability generating functions of the queue length and the delay time in the transmitter buffer are obtained.
