Abstract
For pt.I see ibid., vol.3, no.3, p.880-6 (1988). In part I the authors discussed the testing of the faulted relay element of the cross and quadrature polarized mho distance relays. In this second part, they discuss three case studies in which the test method described in part I allowed the Saskatchewan Power Corporation (SaskPower), using off-the-shelf test equipment, to accurately predict the relay operating characteristic, improve relay performance, and more accurately set the distance relay for phase-to-phase (LL) and single-line-to-ground (SLG) faults
