Abstract
In some electric substations, such as those comprising series-compensation equipment, the shunt buswork forms a plane three-phase system of six parallel buses. This system is exposed to the electrodynamic effects of both symmetrical and asymmetrical faults that results in current flow in two to all six of the buses concerned. The studies reported show that the maximum forces in such a system usually exceed the values expected in a plane three-phase system comprising three buses
