Abstract :
The design of broadband, thin-layer electromagnetic absorbers for operation in the VHF/UHF frequency regime usually employs magnetic materials. Theoretical analysis has implicitly determined the material configuration and electromagnetic parameter values of a single homogeneous layer of dielectric/magnetic that will produce zero specular reflection. Based on this analysis, an explicit universal graphic aid for determining these properties has been produced. This graphic aid is a design chart that not only simplifies the design process, but also provides an overall view of the interrelated numerical values of the material properties required to implement various specular electromagnetic absorber design concepts. The chart encompasses a broad range of lossy dielectric/lossy magnetic material properties in a continuum of possible designs
