Abstract :
A description is given of MORGAT, a digital simulator of electrical transient phenomena occurring in transmission systems, used for the study and testing of protection systems. Requirements regarding accuracy of modeling and ease of use are reviewed, and the numerical methods used in the program for simulating transients are briefly examined. The man/machine interface, which allows the simulation program to be used easily by those who are unfamiliar with computer techniques, is presented. The hardware configuration of the digital model and the interface with the tested devices are described
