Abstract
The Line Protection Survey Working Group of the IEEE Line Protection Subcommittee conducted a survey during 1985 and analyzed the line protection practices of 116 utility companies in the US and Canada through the responses to a survey questionnaire. A database was established from which current design practices were observed for four general categories of transmission lines: most important; important; secondary; and subtransmission
