Abstract :
This letter discusses the possibility and need for establishing a penalty system for loads producing harmonics. The proposed penalty/discount system is based on revenue meters with digital signal processing (RMD). The calculations of required quantities are based on the difference between the total active power and the active power at fundamental frequency. The possibility of the method´s application was verified by an experiment on a simplified single-phase model.
