Abstract
Reliability indices for comparing distribution system performance are defined. The effects of manual and automatic sectionalizing schemes on system reliability indices are examined. A cost reliability index and a cost effectiveness ratio are developed for evaluation distribution system design. An example of applying cost reliability index concept for selecting a preferred design is included.
