Abstract
With a new site remote from the Cincinnati Gas & Electric Company System Substations and with 650 MW units to be installed, analyses of the station auxiliary buses were made based on criteria of electrical performance, reliability, economics, engineering judgment and flexibility for future loads. The analyses confirmed the suitability and established the design parameters of a medium voltage auxiliary system which uses 6.9 kV as the nominal voltage to serve motors between 300 and 9000 hp.
