Abstract
A low driving power surface acoustic wave (SAW) atomiser has been developed. An SAW driving structure consists of a unidirectional interdigital transducer, a horn, and a waveguide fabricated on a 128degYXLiNbO3 substrate. At a frequency of about 78 MHz, about 1 W of driving power was sufficient for continuous atomisation of water. Mean diameter of droplets and atomising rate were about 1.5 mum and 40 mul/min, respectively
