A control systems laboratory with microcomputer supervision

An introductory control systems laboratory is presented which uses a microcomputer to provide an automated and highly flexible set of experiments. Most of the important theoretical concepts which are presented in an introductory course in control systems are illustrated through experiments on an electro-mechanical system. These experiments provide students with a physical insight into the theory.
