Abstract
The authors discuss how microprocessor (μP)-based relays, through use of such features as programmable curve shape and time delays, allow economical yet accurate coordination of today´s ever-changing distribution systems. They use examples to demonstrate the advantages of these relays, and they identify precautions that must be taken when they are used
