Abstract :
Direct timing extraction in a modified-Manchester-coded fibre optic transmission system is demonstrated. The presence of the clock signal in the received data is used to injection lock an electronic oscillator thus generating a large timing signal. The technique is also suitable for optical injection locking for timing extraction
