Abstract :
We focus on deriving the single user data rate distribution from the sum-rate distribution. We discuss a method based on the inversion of the characteristic function, valid for both analytical and empirical distributions, and discuss some of its numerical considerations. Subsequently, we present a novel, simplified method based on “beta scaling” of the sum-rate variable. We validate our results using simulated sum-rate data and data from an LTE field measurement. The results demonstrate close agreement with the true single user distribution.
