Abstract
Advanced aircraft such as control configured vehicles (CCV) provide the capability for implementing multimode control laws, which allow the aircraft performance to be tailored to match the characteristics of a specific task or mission. This is accomplished by generating decoupled aircraft motions, which can be used to improve aircraft effectiveness. In this article, we describe a task-tailored multimode flight control system, which was designed by using eigenstructure assignment.
