  • Abstract
    This paper underlines the importance of a well-motivated staff in ensuring a continuously maximized performance. While there is no single magic formula to staff motivation, recognizing that positive motivation does not just happen is essential, and creating it needs an investment of time. A good way to impart positive motivation is by recognizing achievement, which may come in the form of a free dinner or a merit-based salary increase and incentive payments. It is also a good idea to juggle a changing range of different influences large and small to create the overall desired effect. However, a manager´s contribution to personal development is of prime importance and should remain constant.
