Abstract
Theoretical and experimental characterization of degenerate six-wave mixing (DSWM) in bulk media composed of isotropic or anisotropic saturable absorbers is presented. The ratio of the χ(5) tensor components has been calculated and measured for both types of media. The authors have also demonstrated that, using DSWM, two-photon absorption coefficients can be evaluated when one-photon absorption is important
