Abstract :
A large aperture, modular NaI(Tl) detector, the Crystal Box, with 396 independent crystal modules is now in operation at LAMPF. Electronics matched to the excellent energy and time resolutions provided by this detector for y rays and electrons has been built and tested, and is described in this paper. Included are base circuit design, photomultiplier (PMT) signal distribution, energy and time measurement, provision of logic signals, and the control of data acquisition and preliminary data processing by a group of small computers.
