  • Abstract
    A new implementation in CMOS technology for the neuron cell of the standard cellular neural networks (CNNs) is introduced. The proposed cell activation closely approximates a three-segment piecewise linear function, also at the comers of the technological process. This feature permits a generalised design procedure for the CNN which accurately accounts for the errors in the electronic implementation of the cell.
