Abstract
An absorbing boundary condition (ABC) is developed using multiple absorbing surfaces. This ABC is stable and efficient. It can be easily added in the finite-difference time-domain computer program. It also produces the same reflection as a higher order Higdon ABC and it is therefore comparable to the perfectly matched layer method.
