Abstract :
A full-length radial template has been used to locate, adjust and measure the steel reflector surface of an 85 ft-diameter paraboloid. Under static conditions and with the aerial facing the zenith, 99% of surface achieved lies within ±0.100in of the specified geometrical shape. The template was checked by a taut-wire method before and after use.
