  • Abstract
    The concept of bunching an electron beam by modulating the velocity of the electrons as, for instance, in the klystron is carried over to a supersonic stream of gas. Periodic modulation of the stream velocity produces pressure variations downstream, resulting in a local rise in gas temperature and electrical conductivity, possibly useful in an m.h.d. generator.
