Abstract :
A wave optics analysis of light propagation in a multisectional magnetooptical waveguide isolator is performed. The action of the whole element can be mathematically described as the multiplying of complex matrices. Specifically, a simple stepwise isolator design with input TE (transverse electric) polarization is analyzed. The dependence of the output TM (transverse magnetic) power on the length of one full sector is computed
