Abstract :
The authors present a comparison between results predicted by four mathematical models of hysteresis and experimental data measured on a CoNiCr alloy for longitudinal recording. Two of those models are simple analytical formulas and can be used in a first approach to the phenomena, but are deficient in terms of modeling the behavior of minor loops. The other two models are more sophisticated. The first assumes a differential equation between B and H, while the other is derived from the Preisach model. The authors present results showing that, for the material studied, the last model gives the best fitting to experimental data
