Abstract
Optical switching-and-logic technology for use in two-dimensional smart-pixel arrays is discussed. The technology is integrable and cascadable. Optically controlled vertical cavity self-emitting laser (VCSEL)-based switches, Boolean optical logic, and reconfigurable optical switching are discussed.<>
