Abstract :
An expression is derived in closed form for the small-signal impedance of a transferred-electron (Gunn-effect) diode, assumed to be stable against domain formation. Diffusion and energy-transport terms are neglected, but the inhomogeneous distribution of electric field is taken into account. Regions of negative resistance are found.
