Abstract
A general expression for the frequency of ferromagnetic resonance as a function of crystalline orientation is developed. From this, an analytical expression is derived, giving the orientations of a y.i.g. sphere where the resonance frequency is unaffected by changes in anisotropy constant. It is shown that, for practical device applications, orientation of samples along a [0, 8, 13] axis provides the least sensitivity to misalignment.
