Abstract :
A description is given of a camera-type color image scanner with a fast scanning mechanism and novel image signal processing technology. Emphasis is on the characteristics of the linear actuator that provides random access to any position within 400 ms at 7 mu m accuracy to scan the designated region of the document quickly and the processing system that uses the subsampling circuit to designate and input a required region of the original document.
