Abstract
The design and development of a single-chip car stereo tuner IC housed in a QIP-64 (64-pin quad inline package) is discussed. The authors discuss the elimination of mutual interference between the FM front end and intermediate frequency (IF) blocks, measures used for pin-count reduction, and improving performance characteristics, as well as the development of an adjustment-free voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) circuit used in the tuner IC.
