Abstract :
A simple transistorised electrometer can be realised using a matched pair of m.o.s. field-effect transistors in the differential input stage of an operational amplifier. A self-compensating operation with almost perfect cancellation of thermal drift is achieved by intentionally unbalancing the gate voltages of the input stage.
