  • Abstract
    Recent correspondence has suggested that there is a fundamental difference between the analysis of the multiplication process for continuous and discontinuous variates. A development in terms of Stieltjes integrals is presented, and this produces the same result for both forms of variate. It is suggested that the discrepancies in the former treatments are due to different assumptions for the autocorrelation of the multiplication variate.
