  • Abstract
    Linear f.m. compressed-pulse paired-echo-sidelobe structures are associated with the ripples of the Fresnel spectrum produced by an active-modulation technique. The same type of paired-echo-sidelobe structures will be observed with a passive linear f.m.-generation technique, if the transmission method employs sharp time gating and hard limiting. Supporting experimental data are presented.
