Abstract :
Operation of the regenerator was analyzed on a computer to obtain the output and reflected pulse waveforms. The results were supported by experiments that demonstrated the feasibility of transmitting a unipolar pulse pattern at about 125MHz repetition rate over the coaxial cable repeatered with three experimental regenerators. The pulse voltage gain was typically 9 dB per stage with the directivity of unilateral regeneration of about 10 dB. All the regenerators were d.c. powered in series over the coaxial cable. The feeding current was 76 mA, the d.c. voltage drop 190 mV, and the d.c. power dissipation 144 mW per stage.
