Abstract :
The nuclear physics group at the University of Illinois has implemented a data acquisition system using modified versions of the Concurrent Pascal and Sequential Pascal languages. An operating system has been written to support the development of data acquisition software. This paper concentrates on providing practical information of the architecture and characteristics of the system, rather than on performance evaluation or system design strategy.
