Abstract :
A general description of a software tool developed by the University of Manitoba Cyclotron Laboratory for VAX-MBD systems is presented. MBDDDT provides an interactive capability that facilitates diagnostic and developmental activities in the MBD. The ability to examine and modify internal MBD registers and memory, as well as the ability to assemble MBD programs for loading into memory or patching into existing channel programs can provide an effective developmental aid. In particular, when adding additional features or attempting to diagnose suspected software and/or hardware faults, such an interactive tool can prove invaluable.
