Abstract :
In circuit synthesis and allied problems it is frequently necessary to obtain a real polynomial, the roots of which all have nonpositive real parts and the squared modulus of which is a given function. An extension of this method is described here for the case where it is necessary to find such a polynomial which, when added to another given polynomial, has a defined squared modulus. A numerical example is given.
