Abstract
A resonant cavity technique has been employed to measure the ratio of the average ionic mobility, ¿i , to the ionic recombination constant, k , for ionized air (water content 1.1 ± 0.1% by volume). The measured value is ¿i/k = 0.8Ã108(m-1V-1). The result is compared with measurements made with other techniques. A possible basis for the variation of published values is the variation of humidity in the air sample measured.
