Abstract :
A multiplexer and demultiplexer are proposed that should enable serial transmission of several parallel data channels at speeds up to several gigabits per second. Novel features of the system are the elimination of gates in the high-speed data channel and the use of avalanche-pulse generators to generate the output pulse train.
