Abstract :
Gas-chromatographic measurements on adsorption and desorption characteristics of one type of charcoal at 50°C to -70°C had been measured using non-radioactive standard gases of 5000ppm or 100ppm Kr or Xe in He or Ar carrier. The charcoal was 5 grams of TSURUMI COAL 2GM packed in a 10 cm3 cylindrical chamber of 40 mm diameter by 8 mm depth. Performance of a charcoal - Ge gamma-ray spectrometer combination was studied using JRR-3(Japan Research Reactor 3) helium cover gas which contained Ar-41 as well as gaseous fission products such as Kr-85m, 85, 87, 88, Xe-133, 135m and 138.
