Wave interaction with moving boundaries

The reflection and refraction of plane electromagnetic waves at a moving interface separating two media of different relative permittivities is discussed. The Sommerfeld-Runge law and the condition of equality of phases at an interface are applied to derive the various parameters of the reflected and refracted waves. The cases of the boundary moving away from the incident waves and the boundary colliding with the incident waves are considered.
