Abstract :
The analytical method of images using magnetic charge is applied to analyze characteristics of the slotless axial-flux type brushless dc motors in this paper. The theory of analytical method is introduced and flux density distribution is calculated and verified by three-dimensional finite element analysis. Then, characteristics between single and dual gap axial-flux motor are analyzed and compared
