Abstract :
The mechanism of frequency synchronisation of Gunn oscillators to an injected signal by r.f. triggering of the Gunn instability is used to divide the frequency of the input signal. By locking to the first subharmonic of the input signal, a division by two with an associated power gain of, maximally, 11.5 dB has been obtained.
