Abstract
An adaptation of a personal computer to substation waveform measurement is described. Field trials were conducted at a customer´s refining and cogeneration site, to investigate unexplained arrester failures following isolation due to tie-line faults. The use of the MS-DOS operating system, input selection, maintenance, and economics are discussed.<>
