Abstract :
An integrated hearing-aid amplifier, which uses a new class-B output stage and operates from a single silver-oxide cell, is described. The amplifier has a voltage gain of 76 dB, a volume control range of 47 dB, and a quiescent current of approximately 90 /spl mu/A. It is shown that the average battery life cannot be significantly increased by a further reduction in quiescent current.
