  • Abstract
    A new hybrid ARQ (HARQ) scheme is introduced for irregular low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes. It is based on degree distributions and so is called degree distribution based HARQ (DDB-HARQ). In DDB-HARQ, the receiver selectively retransmits a certain percentage of the nodes with large degrees each time. According to the simulation results, DDB-HARQ brings a significant gain to the LDPC coded system, since the nodes with large degrees in a frame contribute more to the performance.
