Use of nonuniform dielectrics on surface-wave structures

Glines with nonuniform dielectric regions are studied in an attempt to improve performance over that of normal Glines with uniform dielectric regions. Some improvement is predicted for the lines studied; however, the effect of the radial decay rate precludes any general conclusions concerning overall performance of such lines.
