Abstract :
A novel bipolar transconductor is presented which offers lowered harmonic distortion levels without having to reduce the transconductance. The proposed arrangement combines a standard long-tailed pair with matched devices having their common emitter connection driven by the common-mode input signal. Experimental evidence suggests that a monolithic implementation could achieve distortion levels of 0.1% or better with differential inputs up to 2VT.
